Redemption Dayby Steve O'Brien
The terrorist to be feared is not one across the seas.
It is the one in your backyard; the one indistinguishable from your neighbors.
Redemption Day is a highly paced thriller based upon historical events and documented teachings of the Posse Comitatus. Their beliefs and those of other Sovereign Groups led to the bombing of the Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City on a date of significance to the group—April 19.
In Redemption Day, the Posse Comitatus has returned, reinvigorated and inspired by the economic downturn and anger over government intrusion. The Posse seeks to not only wreak havoc on the country, but to actually change the political landscape. In their effort to “take back the country,” they kidnap a Supreme Court Justice.
With money extorted from a government contractor desperate to win back a domestic terrorism contract, redemption day unfolds.
The protagonist is Nick James, a terrorism analyst who loses his job as a result of the cutback in spending on domestic terror programs. He is one of the government’s leading experts on the Posse Comitatus, but he is soon framed for the killing of a West Virginia sheriff and put on the run.
The Government wants him arrested; the Posse Comitatus wants him dead.
Nick has to clear his name and unravel the Posse plot before April 19 arrives.

Albuquerque CPA Charlie Parker (female, despite the name) handles the business side of RJP Investigations while her brother, Ron, does the detecting. When Ron is out of town, however, Stacy North, who eloped with Charlie's fiance, Brad, 10 years earlier, comes calling, hoping to hire someone to find her missing Rolex watch. Charlie reluctantly takes the case and soon finds the watch in a pawn shop, where the thief, a man with whom Stacy had been having an affair, sold it. Soon the lover is dead, and Stacy is an obvious suspect. Charlie sticks with the case and finds herself involved with still more murder. This is a well-plotted debut mystery with a nice surprise ending and some excellent characterizations. Charlie, in particular, is slick, appealing, and nobody's fool--just what readers want in an amateur sleuth. Look forward to the next installment in what shapes up to be a promising series. Race Traitor by Elisa Hategan
Described by publishers as raw, explosive and frightening, Race Traitor is inspired by the incredible true story of a Jewish teenage girl who becomes recruited by a neo-Nazi terrorist group.
To sixteen-year old runaway Lara Aslan, the new friends she finds in the secretive Patriot Front are the family she’s never had. They feed her when she’s hungry, watch her back and provide her with shelter at the home of infamous Holocaust denier Heinz Zimmer, whose web of hate connects neo-Nazis worldwide.
Under the guidance of the mysterious Markus Bellow, the covert leader of the Patriot Front, Lara swiftly undergoes a radical transformation that integrates weapon-training, combat skills and information-gathering tactics to produce the perfect terrorist. Thinking it’s all a game, Lara doesn’t know that the Patriot Front will stop at nothing to achieve their clandestine aim. In turn, the Patriot Front is unaware of Lara’s own dark, long-buried secrets, which come to light on the heels of a brutal attack.
Forced to confront her Jewish roots and concealed sexual identity, Lara knows she has to take swift action before it’s too late. With the help of a middle-aged French journalist and a lesbian police officer, Lara begins to spy on Heinz Zimmer and the Patriot Front. But the deeper she delves into their network of hatred, the deadlier her quest becomes.
INSPIRED BY A TRUE STORY
A gripping, fast-paced storyline inspired by actual events, Race Traitor blends the thrilling joyride of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo with the revolutionary manifesto of V for Vendetta. An unforgettable journey into the darkness of the human heart, this is a tale that is sure to stay with you long after the book has ended.
PRAISE FOR RACE TRAITOR
“The author conjures up a powerful premise, and frighteningly captures the world of separatist groups.”

This is really a fascinating plot, and I was so drawn into Larissa’s complex, high-stakes world with the sinister Patriot Front. The author did a fantastic job of creating a gritty, believable setting and convincing me of Larissa’s motivations to get wrapped up into such frightening circumstances.
