Committing to Rock and Roll means committing to rage, rebellion and excess. For Rock guitarist Moss, these concepts have become his marrow. To some, he is unmatched in electrifying an audience. To others, Moss would be better off if he electrocuted himself plugging in his guitar. Moss himself would agree with both sentiments. His nights are punk-blues ranting, jamming and partying with his band. His days are spent traversing a dark, dirty, big Midwestern city. His guitar on his back, he comments with gusto on the absurdity of how life on the edge somehow coexists with normalcy. On his walks, he learns from and interacts with misfits and conformists who either love him or hate him. Spirits embrace, spirits clash. Through it all Moss must decide if he can continue to rely on fate opening doors for him, or if fate has already abandoned him to rely on himself only - a sketchy proposition, at best.

Wild, sardonic and intensely vivid, E7 electrifies the reader. This is a book for a reader who demands that life is to be lived on his or her own terms. A book that proclaims we are all brilliant, that we are all ridiculous, that we are all required to believe in something that feeds our soul. Even if that something might eventually forge our doom.

Jackson Reilly is a six-foot-three biker with lots of tattoos and a pig-tail that extends half-way down his back. A bouncer for a low-rent strip bar in Victoria, a tourist town on the southern tip of Vancouver Island, Jackson's never shied away from a fight, whether it’s with would-be tough guys at the bar where he works or his own biker buddies.
Jackson’s world revolves around drinking, smoking dope, carousing with his friends, casual sex with bar girls, and riding his aging Norton 850 Commando motorcycle, but his life was once a lot different. As a child he was a piano prodigy. For mysterious reasons he gave it all up when he was thirteen, and he's been at war with the rest of the world ever since.

It takes the death of his mother and a re-connection with his aging Auntie Jo, who once played piano with some of the cream of the fifties’ jazz scene, to make him see that what he's really been battling against for all those years is his own destiny.

After years in the dark Jackson finally learns the meaning of ‘follow your bliss’, but has the lesson come too late?

Nocturnal Academy year 7 Books 1-3

Nocturnal Academy
Alice Dibble, about to start high-school, is accepted into the prestigious Nocturnal Academy, a school for supernatural creatures. Alice is both overjoyed and horrified to discover that she is a vampire.

To make things even more interesting, her worst enemy, Toby Thompson, has also been selected. He is a werewolf.

But before Alice can even start at the Nocturnal Academy she must come to terms with her new identity, defeat Toby’s old bully friends who have discovered the truth about her, and expose a local coven that wants to raise the Demon-Lord Vladrakov.

Nocturnal Academy 2 – Teacher’s Pet
Alice Dibble has finally made it to the Nocturnal Academy, and is ready to start lessons at the exclusive private school. She believes she is about to be trained to become a nocturnal defender of the Earth against the chaotic hordes of the Immaterium, and is ready to face up to this noble challenge.

Unfortunately, when she arrives she discovers that the Nocturnal Academy isn’t that different from her old school. Lessons are tedious, equipment is old and broken, bats roosting in the rafters keep dropping presents on her notebook - and then there is scullery duty, which involves taking rubbish out to the epic compost heap, known to swallow children whole.

Alice’s new friend Toby, once a popular kid at her primary school, has become an outcast; her old enemy Carla needs help to learn how to change into her new animal form, and a little omniwere boy who can only change into tiny creatures has developed a crush on her.

Alice must also learn how to use her new vampire powers responsibly without succumbing to the lure of the darkness.

To make matters worse, Professor Abbacus, a teacher Alice thought liked her, now seems to want to kill her. It is all Alice can do to keep one step ahead of him and all of his devious, convoluted plans to punish her for the destruction of the Holloway Grimoire.

Nocturnal Academy 3 – Immaterial Girl
Worn out after her first three terms at the Nocturnal Academy, Alice Dibble finds she needs help to sleep. At a low ebb, she accidentally allows some Immaterial imps to influence her thought patterns, and uses her superior mental powers to push her unhealthy father into exercising. When he collapses from a heart-attack, Alice is overcome with guilt.

At the same time, Alice and her vampire friend Milly become involved with a Magick group at the Rainbow Tiger store in Appleton Mall. They are trying to open a portal to the Magick Earth. Although Alice has second thoughts, Milly travels through with them.

When Milly’s distraught parents arrive at the school, Alice is forced to reveal everything. Professor Abbacus proclaims that he and Alice will easily bring Milly back as he knows his way around the Magick Earth. Toby and Carla volunteer to come as well. However, only Alice, Toby and Carla make it through; the portal at the Rainbow Tiger contains a failsafe that prevents the Professor from following. The three children must track their classmate down on their own. They receive help from a wererat named Skittles, but discover that Milly has been captured and sentenced to die the very next morning!
