A trigger-happy young detective becomes immersed in a world of bees and mad honey in order to catch a murderer.
Miami homicide detective Elizabeth Stratton knows she's lucky to still have a job, but she's tired of only getting the easy cases. She'll never be able to regain the respect of her colleagues without a chance to prove she's no longer an anxious mess who shoots at anything that moves.
Her opportunity comes during a routine check at a near-abandoned hotel. While trying to save the living, she finds the dead. In the midst of a bee infestation is the body of a young woman, her mouth filled with honey.
Elizabeth is grudgingly allowed to keep the case, which rapidly becomes compelling when the honey is found to be poisonous and the bees follow her home.
But just when she's closing in on the killer, he targets her new friend and Elizabeth must brave the high winds of a category four hurricane to save her.

For five long years Junior Cotton--the twisted sadist who slaughtered Gene's wife and unborn child--has been a caged animal. Now he's broken loose and he's coming after Gene and his sister. To take revenge and to reveal the truth about Skye. A truth that will damn her for eternity.
PRAISE FOR VILE BLOOD
"Beyond horror. One of the most intense, graphic books I have ever read. The imagination of Max Wilde is a thing to behold." ELIZABETH A. WHITE - FLORIDA TIMES-UNION
"VILE BLOOD has characters you care about, a nasty wit and a strange kind of charm. Can't wait for the sequel." - JACK KETCHUM, author of THE GIRL NEXT DOOR & THE WOMAN
"VILE BLOOD by Max Wilde, alias Roger Smith, has the same wicked pace, wonderful prose and compulsory vibe that keeps the pages flying in his crime novels, but be warned, this is something very different from Smith. This is more violent and bloodier than anything we've seen from him yet, with true stomach-churning horror that takes no prisoners." - DAVE ZELTSERMAN, author of MONSTER & THE CARETAKER OF LORNE FIELD
Max Wilde is the pen name of award-winning crime writer, Roger Smith.

Slow Cooker in a Flash by Amy Clark

Slow Cooker in a flash seems to be an oxymoron. While the actual cooking may take hours, putting the recipe together should not. Almost all the recipes in this book do not require additional cooking to be able to put the ingredients together. If you buy hamburger in bulk and divide it once you get home, you can brown it then, freeze it in one-pound quantities, and have it ready to add.
You may want to add noodles, pasta, or rice to go with the main dinner dish in the slow cooker, but you do not have to brown hamburger, chicken, or any other meat for these recipes.
Just mix the ingredients, plug in the slow cooker, and turn it on. When you are ready, the slow cooker meal will be ready in a flash.
The only requirement is planning ahead to give the slow cooker time to cook.
If you are taking dinner to someone's house, or contributing to a potluck, there is no easier way to transport a meal than in a slow cooker.
These recipes are also great for preparing dinner before you leave for work. When you come back in the door, you will be greeted with the aroma of dinner already cooking!
