Phoenix Nest: Guardians of the Future
Shelana is a genius with a lot to learn. A descendant of genetically enhanced humans known as Preservationists, Shelana roams a landscape devoid of civilization in a world that long ago managed to advance itself right back to the Stone Age.
Presers have only one lifetask: to pass on to their children the knowledge stored in their enhanced memories so that eventually, when mankind is ready to use it wisely, civilization may be restored.
The tragedy that leaves Shelana on her own too soon also sets her on a second path that threatens to end her life before her lifetask is complete. To make matters worse, she faces a constant battle against the powerful, bloodthirsty Myths. Their leader, Vernon, wants to eradicate Preservationists so he alone can control the redevelopment of civilization. Vernon has made one mistake that may ruin his plans, a mistake the Myth leader doesn't even remember. But Shelana does.

Mack Maran, the most skilled op his nation ever had, stands outside the courthouse at Ft. Bragg, home of his “non-existent” unit. America’s unsung hero has been betrayed, ambushed, and disgraced in a mission to rescue young American idealists held by African terrorists.
His enemies, led by a major illegal arms dealer in league with Islamist terrorists, are cunning and treacherous. But they don’t count on Maran’s tenacity. He plans to hunt down the enemies who butchered his men, hobbled his health, and defiled his honor—and then kill them.
He sets up his own spy firm and finds he’s not a lone victim.
The strong and independent diamond courier, Amber Chu, leads Mack on a race to free her kidnapped son and destroy their common enemy. Together they plunge through a maze of danger and intrigue to unravel a massive diamond scam that takes them from the U.S. Diamond Board, to the gemstone cutting tables of Antwerp, to the Congo—and back to the nation’s capital.
Maran’s probe exposes the dark side of unbridled idealism at the highest levels, where the thirst for wealth and power meet.

Chronicles is a series of short Novellas based on the characters and concepts explored in the full-length novel "The Fourth Awakening." The story picks up where the second novel in The Fourth Awakening series, "The Gathering Darkness", leaves off. While each Chronicle is a stand-alone episode that can be read independently, it is a part of a much larger and continuing story.
Pulitzer Prize winning reporter Penelope Drayton Spence is seeking to interview people who have arrived at the Fourth Awakening either through their own efforts or having it thrust on them unwittingly. With no noticeable outward changes, these people are difficult to identify and even harder to convince to talk about their experiences. The problem for Penelope is that when she can locate a potential candidate they have a nasty habit of simply vanishing.
The goal of each Chronicle is to present an Enlightened “Archetype,” and explore its characteristics. The archetypes are derived from and based on research conducted by the book’s second-author, Jeffery A. Martin, that involved over a thousand of these individuals worldwide. More about that research project can be found at: NonSymbolic.org.
In the first Chronicle we meet a professional gambler in Las Vegas, Daniel Wooten. He is a middle-aged, confirmed bachelor with no religious moorings. Wooten has never meditated, hasn’t been in a church in decades and hadn’t shown the slightest interest in his spiritual side until the moment he found himself enlightened.
The Fourth Awakening by Rod Pennington & Jeffery A. Martin has been the Amazon Kindle #1 Bestseller in “New Age > Mysticism” in the US for over three consecutive years. It has also been #1 in the UK in “Thought & Practice > Mysticism” for over two years.
